A Passion for Antiquities: Ancient Art from the Collection of Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Details
From Library Journal The Fleischman collection, ranging from Cycladic (c. 2500 B.C.) to late Roman (c. A.D. 130), focuses on intimate objects, especially those that are concerned with everyday life. Two-thirds of this collection (approximately 180 items) are included in an exhibit appearing at the Getty and Cleveland museums of art in 1994-95. The collection is arranged by medium within six chronological periods. This is what an exhibit catalog should be: solid background essays combined with extensive catalog entries and excellent photographs. Most of the items included are published here for the first time. Libraries that focus on Greco-Roman art, antiquities, or culture will want to purchase this offering.?Mary Morgan Smith, Northland P.L., PittsburghCopyright 1995 Reed Business Information, Inc.
